Dr. Saurav and Dr. Tanmay Gupta faculties of Civil Engineering Department, JUIT were invited by District Disaster Management Authority Shimla (DDMA-Shimla) to give expert lectures on Safe construction practices in district Shimla on 7/10/2023.
Entire event “Training and capacity building on safe construction practices and disaster risk reduction” was organized by DDMA Shimla to promote International day for disaster risk reduction (IDDRR). Dr. Saurav discussed about various safe practices one should follow for earthquake resistant and resilient construction.
He emphasized on construction of earthquake resilient structures in Rural and Urban Areas of District Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Tanmay Gupta’s engaging presentations on “Best Practices for Safe Construction” and “Earthquake Safety and Retrofitting of Structures in Shimla City” were met with enthusiastic acclaim. Through these sessions, he shared invaluable insights, backed by compelling case studies, highlighting the importance of safe construction and retrofitting measures in Shimla. His expertise and effective delivery resonated well with the audience, leaving them equipped with practical knowledge for enhancing structural safety.
