Shimla
The high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh have once again been covered in a white sheet of snow. There has been intermittent snowfall in Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Mandi, Shimla, Kinnaur, Kangra, and Sirmaur districts since last night. At the same time, rain has been recorded in the lower areas. Due to fresh snowfall, the outbreak of cold wave in the state has increased further.
Snowfall along with light rain was recorded in Shimla, while rain continues in Dharamsala. Fresh snowfall has also occurred on the Dhauladhar hills, due to which a drop in temperature has been recorded.
Meteorological Department’s forecast
The Meteorological Center Shimla has predicted rain and snowfall in the middle and high mountain areas on January 16, 21, and 22. Light to moderate rain may occur in the lower hills and plains. Light rain and snowfall are also expected in many parts of the state between January 17 and 20. At the same time, an alert has been issued for dense fog in the plains.
