Tourists traveling from Kaza to Manali were stranded in Chhatru last night due to heavy snowfall. Their vehicle got stuck in the snow, and they informed the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). The DDMA then notified the Koksar police station. Upon receiving the information, a police team in a four-wheel-drive vehicle reached Chhatru, and the rescue team immediately rescued all the stranded tourists.
It took until 5:30 AM to safely bring the stranded tourists back to Koksar. SP Lahaul-Spiti, Shivani Mehla, stated that the police rescue team successfully rescued the tourists who were trapped in the snow amidst adverse weather conditions. She urged tourists and locals to pay close attention to the weather conditions while crossing the Kunzum, Baralacha, and Shinkula passes.
