The managing committees of the Golden Temple and Durgiana Mandir are all set to abide by the government’s Covid prevention guidelines for religious places. The two major shrines of the holy city will be reopened for devotees from Monday.
While the SGPC has initiated steps to adhere to all safety precautions, it is not happy with the restriction over distribution of prasad and langar. SGPC chief secretary Dr Roop Singh said no clear-cut directions regarding “karah parshad” and langar were received, yet every effort was being made to ensure complete hygiene at the Golden Temple’s langar hall.
