A student suddenly fell from the stairs near the Evening College on the Mall Road of Shimla on Friday afternoon and got seriously injured. It is being told that the student ran away scared of the monkey and slipped down the stairs of the college gate and fell in front of a jeweler’s shop on Mall Road, due to which he got serious injuries. The people present at the spot were stunned by this sudden accident.
Meanwhile, a police vehicle reached the spot and without wasting time immediately took the injured child to IGMC (Indira Gandhi Medical College).
The child who was a victim of the accident is said to be Auckland student by one of the witness. It is being speculated that the child may be a resident of Mall Road area.
Monkey menace has become a common problem in Shimla. The increasing number of monkeys in a busy and popular area like Mall Road is becoming a threat to the local people as well as tourists. After this incident, local people have demanded from the administration to increase security measures in Mall Road and its surrounding areas. People say that there is a need to take a strict action to stop monkey menace in these areas.
