    Traditional Shoolini Fair to be Held from June 26 to 28: Dr. Dhaniram Shandil

    Solan, June 4: Himachal Pradesh Health, Family Welfare, Social Justice & Empowerment and Sainik Welfare Minister Dhaniram Shandil said that the revered Shoolini Fair 2026 will be organized in its traditional form from June 26 to June 28 in Solan.

    Chairing a meeting of the Shoolini Fair Committee, Dr. Shandil directed officials to complete all preparations related to the worship site and the grand procession of Maa Shoolini well in advance. He also instructed authorities to ensure smooth traffic management, crowd control, and repair of the route from the Shoolini Mata Temple to the procession starting point.

    The minister directed officials to constitute various fair-related committees at the earliest and asked the Sub-Divisional Magistrate to prepare a schedule for community feasts (Bhandaras) to ensure smooth distribution of prasad to devotees.

    Dr. Shandil emphasized maintaining cleanliness throughout the fair, especially around Bhandara sites, and directed officials to ensure adequate drinking water arrangements across the city. He also instructed that water distribution containers at Bhandaras be properly covered.

    To promote Himachali culture, he called for inviting cultural troupes from different districts of the state and ensuring significant participation of local artists in cultural programmes.

    Like previous years, the fair will feature a wide range of activities, including Craft Fair, Exhibitions, Wrestling, Thoda, Tug of War, Volleyball, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Kabaddi, Chess, Table Tennis, Judo, Slogan Writing Competitions, Baby Show, Flower Show, and Pet Show.

    The Health Minister also directed the Regional Transport Manager to operate free bus services for local residents during the fair. The police department has been asked to utilize the services of the National Cadet Corps to assist in maintaining law and order and traffic management during the event.

    Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma assured the minister that all directions would be implemented and the fair would be organized successfully.

    The meeting was attended by several public representatives, senior officials, members of local bodies, and committee members associated with the fair arrangements.

     CM Sukhu to Attend Closing Ceremony

    Shimla, June 4: The International Shimla Summer Festival 2026, scheduled to be held from June 8 to June 12, will be inaugurated by Kavinder Gupta, while the closing ceremony will be presided over by Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

    According to a government spokesperson, the festival will be organized on a grand scale this year, featuring cultural performances, sports events, entertainment programs and a variety of competitions.

    The cultural evenings will begin on June 8 with a performance by Bollywood playback singer Shabab Sabri. The second evening on June 9 will feature Jyotica Tangri, while renowned Himachali folk singer Kuldeep Sharma will perform on June 10. Popular Punjabi singer Gurnam Bhullar will entertain audiences on June 11, and the festival will conclude with performances by Punjabi stars Jassie Gill and Babbal Rai on June 12.

    Shimla Urban MLA Harish Janartha will be the chief guest on June 9, Education Minister Rohit Thakur on June 10, and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on June 11.

    The festival will also feature cultural performances by artists from the Tibet Performing Arts Institute and the North Zone Cultural Centre.

    Other major attractions include the Art Festival, My Champion Dog Show, Healthy Baby Show, Shyamala Manthan, Shyamala Mushaira, Shyamala Kavi Goshthi, Anti-Chitta Under-21 District-Level Volleyball Competition, Live Band Shows, Maha Naati, Chhamm Dance, Voice of Mountain, Fashion Show, Mallakhamb, Zumba, Shimla Swaad Mahotsav, Hot Air Balloon Show, Helicopter Joy Rides, Shimla Summer Festival Film Festival, Road Safety Awareness Campaign and Shyamala Rang Mach Utsav.

    The five-day festival is expected to attract thousands of visitors and showcase the rich cultural heritage, music, art and traditions of Himachal Pradesh.
