    Governor releases brochure of Shiksha Mahakumbh 2026

     

    Shiksha Mahakumbh to be held on 9-10 October at NIT Hamirpur

     

    Governor Kavinder Gupta today released the brochure of the sixth edition of Shiksha Mahakumbh 2026, published by the Samagra Shiksha Department of Vidya Bharati Training and Research Institute at Lok Bhavan.

     

    Shiksha Mahakumbh 2026 will be organized on 9 and 10 October, 2026, at National Institute of Technology Hamirpur under the joint aegis of NIT Hamirpur and the Samagra Shiksha Department. Institutions funded by the Central and State Governments from Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir will collaborate in the event.

     

    Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that initiatives like Shiksha Mahakumbh plays a vital role in shaping new directions for the future of education. Appreciating the efforts of the Samagra Shiksha Department of Vidya Bharati, he said that the organization is working towards promoting India-centric education. He said that the objective of such initiatives is not merely to make education a means of acquiring degrees, but to transform it into a foundation for personality development, nation-building and holistic growth.

     

    Sh. Gupta said that research, innovation and the integration of India’s knowledge traditions into modern contexts form the core philosophy of Shiksha Mahakumbh. He said that five successful editions of the event have already been organized at various National Institutes of Technology across the country and these gatherings have collectively strengthened the foundation of India’s academic resurgence.

     

    Highlighting the theme of this year’s conclave, “Education, Nature and Progress-Educating for Development and Harmony with Nature,”, the Governor said that it was highly relevant in the present context, as the survival and development of humanity depend on maintaining a balanced relationship with nature. He stressed the need for an education system that not only prepares individuals for employment but also fosters balance, sensitivity and sustainable progress.

     

    Expressing confidence in the upcoming event, Sh. Gupta said that Shiksha Mahakumbh 6.0 would emerge as a guiding platform in redefining education aligned with national values and global aspirations. He expressed hope that the conclave would serve not only as a confluence of ideas but also as a transformative initiative that connects education with the soul of India. He urged stakeholders to view education not merely as knowledge acquisition but as a celebration of life, progressing in harmony with nature, society and the nation.

     

    Earlier, Organizational Secretary of Vidya Bharati, Vijay Kumar Nadda and Director of National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, Professor Murlidhar Suryavanshi, also shared their views. National Convener of the Shiksha Mahakumbh campaign, Dr. Shamsher Singh, welcomed the Governor, while senior scientist from Indian Space Research Organisation, Sudesh Thakur, briefed the gathering about the initiative. Dr. Jitendra Garg presented the vote of thanks.

     

    Secretary to the Governor C.P. Verma and Vice Chancellors of various universities were also present on the occasion.

    बिलासपुर के छात्र ने NIT में आत्महत्या करी

    हिमाचल में आत्महत्या के  मामले बढ़ते ही जा रहे हैं। आज भी ऐसा ही मामला NIT से आया है जहा बिलासपुर जिला के एक युवक ने आत्महत्या करली है। इस छात्र ने मानसिक तनाव के चलते आत्महत्या जैसा खौफनाक कदम उठा लिया।

    दरअसल मामला राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान एनआईटी जालंधर का है जहाँ एक बार फिर दर्दनाक घटना सामने आई है । इस संस्थान के एक छात्र ने मानसिक तनाव के चलते अपनी जीवनलीला समाप्त कर ली है। आत्महत्या करने वाला छात्र हिमाचल प्रदेश के बिलासपुर जिले का रहने वाला 25 वर्षीय रोहित चंदेल था। बताया जा रहा है कि वह बीबीए में बार.बार फेल होने के कारण गहरे अवसाद में था।

    बड़ी बात यह है कि एनआईटी जालंधर में पिछले पांच माह में यह दूसरी बार हुआ है, जब संस्थान के छात्र ने आत्महत्या की हो। इससे पहले भी करीब पांच माह पहले एक छात्र नेइमारत से छलांग लगाकर आत्महत्या कर ली थी। बड़ी बात यह है कि पांच माह में आत्महत्या करने वाले दोनों छात्रों के पिता एनआईटी में ही जॉब करते हैं।

    आत्महत्या करने वाले 25 वर्षीय रोहित के पिता जसवंत चंदेल स्वयं एनआईटी जालंधर में पिछले 25 वर्षों से कार्यरत हैं। पुलिस के मुताबिक सोमवार देर शाम जब उसे गंभीर हालत में जालंधर के सेक्रेड हार्ट अस्पताल ले जाया गया, तब तक बहुत देर हो चुकी थी। अस्पताल से थाना मकसूदां को आत्महत्या की सूचना दी गई थी। जिसके बाद पुलिस ने धारा 174 के तहत कार्रवाई करते हुए शव का पोस्टमार्टम करवाकर परिजनों को सौंप दिया।

    थाना मकसूदां के एएसआई रजिंदर सिंह ने बताया उन्हें सेक्रेड हार्ट अस्पताल से आत्महत्या की सूचना मिली थी। मृतक की पहचान रोहित चंदेल के रूप में हुई है। परिवार ने किसी तरह की शिकायत नहीं की है और फिलहाल धारा 174 के तहत ही कार्रवाई की गई है। पोस्टमार्टम के बाद शव परिजनों को सौंप दिया गया है। वहीं दूसरी तरफ जवान बेटे की मौत से परिवार को गहरा सदमा लगा है।

    NIT हमीरपुर में लैब अटेंडेंट सहित तीन लोगों से 10.67 ग्राम चिट्टा बरामद

    हिमाचल प्रदेश के NIT हमीरपुर में कार्यरत लैब अटेंडेंट समेत तीन लोगों से हमीरपुर पुलिस ने 10.67 ग्राम हेरोइन (चिट्टा) बरामद किया है। मामले में सदर थाना हमीरपुर में केस दर्ज किया गया है। हमीरपुर के चौकी जंबाला में इन आरोपियों से चिट्टा बरामद हुआ है।
    आरोपियों की पहचान रजनीश शर्मा निवासी गर्ग निवास न्यू मॉडल टाउन होशियारपुर (पंजाब), विशाल राज निवासी अणु खुर्द तहसील व जिला हमीरपुर और सुनील शर्मा निवासी गांव घरियाना ब्राहम्णा चौकी जंबाला तहसील हमीरपुर को गिरफ्तार कर के एनडीपीएस अधिनियम की धाराओं के अधीन अभियोग पंजीकृत कर लिया गया है।
    आरोपी विशाल राज NIT हमीरपुर लैब अटेंडेंट के पद पर कार्यरत है। जांच के दौरान यह भी पाया गया कि इस अभियोग में गिरफ्तार विशाल राज के पिता NIT हमीरपुर में इलेक्ट्रिक विंग में हेड टेक्नीशियन के पद पर कार्यरत है और इनकी माता भी NIT में जूनियर ड्राफ्ट्समैन के पद पर कार्यरत हैं। एसपी हमीरपुर पदम चंद ने कहा कि मामले की छानबीन जारी है।
    4 महीने पहले हुई थी NIT के स्टूडेंट की मौत
    बता दें कि 4 महीने पहले अक्टूबर में कथित तौर पर NIT में बिलासपुर निवासी एमटेक स्टूडेंट की ड्रग ओवरडोज से मौत हो गई थी। स्टूडेंट की मौत के बाद पुलिस ने NIT परिसर में चिट्टा बरामद किया था। NIT के स्टूडेंट भी इस मामले में नामजद हैं।

    NIT Hamirpur to fill 111 vacancies

    National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur will fill around 111 vacancies in various categories. For this, approval has been received from the Ministry of Education, Government of India. In this, 26 posts of Professor, 20 posts of Associate Professor, 39 posts of Associate Professor Level 10, six posts of Associate Professor Level 11, and 17 posts of Associate Professor Level 12 are to be filled. Apart from this, one post each of Registrar, Deputy Registrar, and Executive Engineer Civil is to be filled. NIT administration has sought applications from interested candidates till March 10, 2023, including a fee of Rs 1,000. SC, ST, Divyang, and women candidates are exempted from the application fee as per the rules.

     

    No application will be considered after the due date. A separate application has to be made for each post. To fill these vacant posts, a plan has been made for quality education and other developmental works. The National Institutional Framework Ranking (NIRF) of NIT Hamirpur was 99 in the year 2021, which dropped 29 places to 128th in 2022. Similarly, the Indian Institutional Framework Ranking (IIRF) was 50 in 2021, which dropped six places to 56th in the year 2022. Registrar of NIT Prof. RS Banstu said that the process of application has already started to fill the vacant posts in various departments in the institute. Efforts are on to provide good facilities to the students in the institute.

    Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN today presided over the 13th Convocation of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Chief Guest Sh. Nand Lal Sharma conferred Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals to the toppers of B-Tech courses. This year, total 1172 degrees were awarded, with 563 receiving it physically and remaining in absentia. He also awarded the Director’s Medal for the Best All Rounder to Ms. Akhya Rai, B Tech (Civil Engineering).

    In his convocation address, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma congratulated the graduating students for successfully completing the academic courses. Motivating them to think out of box and challenge the conventional methods, Sh. Sharma said “Be hungry and dissatisfied; hungry for knowledge and dissatisfied with what you know and have already. Constantly learn new things, strive to grow, tenaciously stick to your targets even in the face of difficulty, make quick decisions and you will definitely achieve success.”

    Nand Lal Sharma further urged the students to make their alma-mater proud by giving back to the institute, helping out the juniors and bringing quality in everything they do. He exhorted them to contribute in nation building by promoting various initiatives of Government of India such as Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Vocal for Local, Digital India, Skill India etc.

    On this occasion,. Nand Lal Sharma also applauded the efforts of faculty & staff of NIT Hamirpur for working diligently to impart quality education and making the institute premier academic Institution of the country. “SJVN and NIT Hamirpur, both the leading premier institutions in their respective fields, have a very long association and are the Techno-Cultural partners,” said Sh. Nand Lal Sharma. He added that taking this partnership a step further, an MOU has been signed between SJVN and NIT Hamirpur today for establishing SJVN Chair Professorship for taking up R&D activities in power development. As part of this MOU, SJVN is contributing Rs 40 Lakhs. He announced that SJVN is proactive and open to collaborate for any research project by students of NIT Hamirpur in the field of hydro, solar, wind, consultancy, green hydrogen etc.
