CM directs HPPCL to expedite execution of power projects

While reviewing the functioning of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) here today, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu directed to expedite the execution of ongoing hydro electric power projects. He reviewed the 450 MW Shong Tong Power Project and directed to ensure its completion by December 2026. He said that more than 60 percent of the project had already been completed and emphasised the need to accelerate the remaining work. He also directed that the transmission line be established in parallel to ensure timely evacuation of the power from this project.

Sh. Sukhu also discussed the progress of 130 MW Kashang-II and III, 48 MW Chanju-III, 40 MW Renuka Dam and 191 MW Thana Plaun hydro electric power projects and instructed that the timelines for the completion be strictly adhered to.

He stressed on setting up pump storage projects and asked the Corporation to initiate the work on the proposed 1630 MW Renukaji pump storage project and 270 MW Thana Plaun pump storage project at the earliest. He said that pump storage projects are useful in supplying electricity during peak hour demand and reducing the load on the grid.

Sh. Sukhu said that harnessing green energy remains a key priority for the State Government and HPPCL should expedite the work of ongoing solar power projects. He also instructed the Corporation to identify new land parcels for setting up new solar power projects across the State.

The Chief Minister also reviewed one MW green hydrogen plant coming up at Nalagarh and directed to complete the project by the end of June, 2026. He directed the Corporation to adopt professionalism in their functioning and said that the present State Government has set the target of making Himachal Pradesh a Green Energy of the country by the next year.

Make best use of government schemes and projects: Himachal CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today asked the students to take benefit of the government schemes and projects and become entrepreneurs.
Speaking at seventh convocation at Shoolini University the chief minister also talked about the several government initiatives, including the Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School, education loans at 1 pc interest up to 20 lakhs, and full fee waivers for under privileged children. The encouraged the students to take these opportunities for personal and state development, and support startups. The Chief Minister also talked about the subsidy to promote electric vehicles, and invest in green hydrogen projects. Flower culture will also be encouraged. He encouraged students to explore these opportunities for personal and state development and don’t look for jobs. Chief Minister predicted that Himachal would become the richest state in 10 years.

Shoolini University, renowned for its excellence in the fields of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, celebrated its 7th Convocation on the university campus with great enthusiasm. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Chairman of ASRB, said that Himachal is a health hub and can become the flower nation. He insisted on the need for hubs for processing and storage. He also shed light on floriculture, study of growing and marketing flowers and foliage plants, as it requires more focus as it holds a lot of potential.
Lt. Gen. JS Negi, PVSM, AVAM, YSM, CSM (Retd), said there is a focus needed on the environment and discipline. He said that the growth of a university also depends on the dedication of the faculty.
A total of 2200 degrees were conferred to students across various programs, including 53 Ph.D. Degree Holders and 60 Gold Medalists. THDC India Limited Celebrated 77th Independence Day in Corporate Office & Projects

Remembering the remarkable contributions of the Indian Freedom Fighters on this momentous occasion, the corporation’s employees were infused with both a profound sense of delight and unwavering patriotism. On this prestigious day, Sh. J. Behera, Director (Finance), hoisted the National Flag at the Corporate Office in Rishikesh, followed by address to all the assembled employees and their family members. At Tehri HPP, Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), hoisted the National Flag with equal pride and enthusiasm, while in Khurja STPP, Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical), performed the honour of hoisting the National Flag. Sh. Behera while addressing the employees stressed on the importance of Independence Day and paid his tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs during the occasion. He also underlined the role played by THDC in the nation’s development in the power sector. Sh. Behera added that when India gained independence, our GDP was only 2.7 lakh crore rupees. Today, it has grown to an impressive 3.38 trillion USD, and India is on its growth trajectory to become a 5 trillion USD economy before 2030.
Sh. Behera informed that in line with the Updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), the Indian government is committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. Additionally, by 2030, around 50% of our cumulative electric power installed capacity should come from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources. Sh. Behera added that THDC India is also continuing its relentless efforts in the field of renewable energy in line with this.
Addressing the employees of the Tehri project and their family members, Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel) conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for the privilege of hoisting the national flag from the highest dam in the country. Sh. Singh emphasized that THDC India Limited continues to chart an impressive growth trajectory as it actively contributes to the multifaceted development of our nation. Sh. Government committed to support early implementation of projects and fostering economic development in the State : CM

Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu held extensive discussions with stakeholders of industries and tourism sectors of Solan district here today. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the actual implementation of investments rather than getting caught up in paperwork. The Chief Minister said that bringing substantial investments into the State is crucial for generating employment opportunities for the youth of the State besides increasing revenue to the State exchequer.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government plans to establish a dedicated Investment Promotion and Facilitation Bureau to support and facilitate investment on the ground. The bureau will streamline the process by providing a single platform for potential investors to obtain all necessary clearances within a specified timeframe.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the government is actively working towards expediting stalled investment projects and attracting new investments. He said that present State Government was laying special focus on making Himachal Pradesh a Green Energy State. The government intends to introduce the country’s first ‘Green Hydrogen Policy’ to promote sustainable practices and develop six ‘Green Corridors’ for Electric Vehicles (EVs) across the state, he said.
He emphasized the state government’s efforts to create a favourable environment for investments in the State by ensuring that investors face no obstacles. Himachal Pradesh is known for its abundant electricity and water supply which provides a conducive environment for investment. He said that the government’s focus was on strengthening existing industrial areas.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the government is committed to support the early implementation of projects and fostering economic development in the State. He said that the incentives are being offered to investors in proposed Bulk Drug Park and Medical Device Park in the state. The state government is actively developing infrastructure for these mega projects, he added.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of adapting to changing industrial dynamics. To promote industrialization, the government is prioritizing the expansion of Kangra Airport, building new heliports, improving road and rail connectivity in the State to reduce logistics costs. These initiatives will enhance the existing industrial, physical, and social infrastructure in the State, he added.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the State Government’s goal of developing Himachal Pradesh as an ‘All-season’ tourism destination, with Kangra district as ‘Tourism Capital’ of the State. He invited investors to consider investing in the tourism sector.
Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan said that the state government plans to establish a land bank soon, simplifying the process for investors to select suitable land. He said that the government is committed to addressing investor concerns and today’s discussion further exemplifies the state government’s dedication. He said that efforts are underway to expedite the execution of pending investment projects.
The Industries Minister thanked the Chief Minister for sparing two days for this discussion from his busy schedule. He said that since day one, the present government has been focused on revamping the system.
Earlier, Principal Secretary Industries, R.D. Nazeem welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed about the incentives being extended to the entrepreneurs by the State Government.
During the meeting, 29 projects were reviewed and the Chief Minister issued necessary instructions to the respective departments. The investors present in the meeting lauded the initiatives of the present state government to discuss the issues of the investors as it will pave the way for the smooth functioning of the industries.
Chairman HP Tourism Development Corporation, R.S. Bali, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries, Sunder Singh Thakur and Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Chief Secretary, Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Bharat Khera, Director Industries, Yunus, Special Secretary Industries, Kiran Bhadana, senior officers of various departments and representatives of the companies were also present in the meeting.

लोक निर्माण मंत्री ने किया प्रधानमंत्री ग्राम सड़क योजना की परियोजनाओं की शीघ्र स्वीकृति का आग्रह
लोक निर्माण तथा युवा सेवाएं एवं खेल मंत्री विक्रमादित्य सिंह ने आज नई दिल्ली में केंद्रीय ग्रामीण विकास तथा पंचायती राज मंत्री गिरिराज सिंह से भेंट की।
उन्होंने केंद्रीय मंत्री को अवगत करवाया कि प्रदेश ने केंद्र सरकार को प्रधानमंत्री ग्राम सड़क योजना चरण-3 के तहत 2813 करोड़ रुपए की लागत की 2565 किलोमीटर लम्बी 242 सड़कों की विस्तृत परियोजना रिपोर्ट प्रेषित की है। उन्होंने इन सड़कों के निर्माण कार्यों की शीघ्र स्वीकृति का आग्रह किया।
लोक निर्माण मंत्री ने कहा कि प्रदेश में प्रधानमंत्री ग्राम सड़क योजना चरण-3 के तहत 3125 किलोमीटर सड़क निर्माण लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है जिसमें बैच एक के तहत गत वित्तीय वर्ष के दौरान 440 किलोमीटर सड़कों के लिए स्वीकृति प्रदान की जा चुकी है। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश सरकार प्रधानमंत्री ग्राम सड़क योजना चरण-3 के माध्यम से राज्य में ग्रामीण सड़क सुविधा को सुदृढ़ करने की दिशा में कार्य कर रही है। उन्होंने इस उद्देश्य की पूर्ति के लिए केंद्र सरकार से उदार सहायता एवं सहयोग प्रदान करने का आग्रह किया।
केंद्रीय मंत्री ने सभी मांगों को ध्यानपूर्वक सुना तथा हरसम्भव सहायता प्रदान करने का आश्वासन दिया।

CM inaugurates and lays foundation stone of development projects of Rs. 26.31 crore in Gadagusaini

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stone of developmental projects worth Rs. 26.31 crore at Gadagusaini in Seraj Vidhan Sabha Area in district Mandi, today.
Chief Minister inaugurated developmental projects of Rs. 8.70 crore for Gadagusaini area. He inaugurated Khauli to Reshan road completed with an expenditure of Rs. 2.23 crore and Shelad Nala, Thachadhar and Rampur road completed with an expenditure of Rs.5.28 crore. He also flagged off HRTC buses on these roads.
Jai Ram Thakur also inaugurated Lift Water Supply scheme for village Mathyani in Gram Panchayat Ghat of Rs. 53.20 lakh, Lift Water Supply scheme for village Khauli and Nehara in Gram Panchayat Khauli completed with an outlay of Rs. 66.54 lakh.
Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stones of various developmental projects of Rs. 17.61 crore which included foundation stone laying of Community Health Centre (CHC) building at Gadagusaini to cost Rs. 13.53 crore and bridge at Gadagusaini, Thanwaddi and Thata road of Rs. 1.79 crore. He also laid foundation stone of Forest Inspection Hut at Gadagusaini to cost Rs. 80 lakh and Inspection hut of Jal Shakti Department at Gadagusaini to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.49 crore.
Chief Minister announced opening of police chowki at Gadagusaini, opening of ITI at Gadagusaini, Primary school at Jaffarkot, upgradation of Government high school Khaulli to Government Senior Secondary School, upgradation of Government Middle School Chudathach to Government High School and upgradation of Veterinary Dispensary Gadagusaini to Veterinary Hospital. He announced opening of Health Sub Center at Dimber Chadi. He said that the Panchayats of this area would brought under Nai Raahein Nai Manzilein Scheme.

While addressing a public meeting at Gadagusaini, the Chief Minister said that roads play a vital role in providing connectivity alongwith facilitating farmers in conveniently transporting their produce to the market. The state government is laying special emphasis on strengthening road infrastructure in the state and to provide each and every village with road connectivity. He said that work on construction, metalling, tarring and expansion of roads was under progress with an expenditure of Rs. 40.22 crore in the area, where as works worth Rs. 17.70 crore were already completed in the area. Apart from this, estimate for construction of bridges with a cost of Rs. 4.58 crore have been sent for approval, he added.

He said that foundation stone laying of bridge at Gadagusaini, Thanwaddi and Thata road would fulfil long pending demand of the people of the area. He said that various drinking water projects of about Rs. 121 crore were being constructed to provide drinking water supply to 25 Panchayats of Seraj and Balichowki block, which would benefit a large number of people of the area. He said that the foundation stone laying of Community Health Centre building would help in strengthening the health infrastructure and provide better health facilities to people of the area.
Jai Ram Thakur said that eight helipad and 26 rest houses have been constructed in Seraj area. He said that 7047 women of the area have benefited under Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna and 1,963 new applications under Social Security Pension have been sanctioned for people of the area.
He said that an Industrial Training Institute, Primary Heath Centre, Senior Secondary School, Tehsil office, Junior Engineer Office and residential buildings worth Rs. 29.90 crore have been completed in Chattri area and inauguration of these would soon be performed.
Chief Minister said that SDM office, Block Development Office and Sub Tehsil office have been opened in Balichowki. He said that Thalot-Panjai-Thachi-Somgaad road of Rs. 25.82 crore and Janjheli-Magrunala-Chattri road of Rs. 22.62 crore were being constructed. Hanogi- Kolanala Bridge over Beas river of Rs. 24.88 crore and Mini Secretariat building to cost Rs. 27.95 crore in Thunag were being constructed. Construction work of Mini Secretariat buildings at Jhanjeli and Balichowki were under progress and Seri Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Centre of rupees five crore was also being constructed at Balichowki. Tourism Cultural Centre of Rs. 23.50 crore was also being established at Dimaktaru.
He said that ropeway project with an expenditure of Rs. 50 crore was being constructed at Mata Baglamukhi Temple in Pandoh, construction of residential premises at Civil Hospital Gadaugsaini with cost of Rs. 1.11 crore and Bus Stand was also being constructed at cost of Rs. 2 crore in Thunag.
MLA Banjar Surender Shourie welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed about the various development works of the area.
Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Society and Hospital Welfare Section Chairperson Dr. Sadhana Thakur, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Arindam Chaudhary , SP Shalini Agnihotri and representative of Panchayati Raj Institutions were also present on the occasion.
