Mandi/Kullu
A tragic accident took place on Sunday in the 4-mile area near Mandi on the Chandigarh-Manali highway. Huge stones falling from the mountain hit a taxi in which members of a tourist family from Mumbai were traveling. The woman died in the incident, while her husband and the taxi driver were injured.
The deceased woman has been identified as Priya, who died on the spot. Her husband and the driver present in the taxi were injured and were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital. The seriously injured driver has been referred to PGI Chandigarh for better treatment. ASP Mandi Sagar Chand has confirmed the incident.
