A video of heavy trucks arriving at Shimla’s historic Ridge Maidan, which has been declared a no-vehicle zone for vehicles, is going viral on social media. It is being told that this video is from the night of November 28. In the viral video, a large truck can be seen parked in the middle of the Ridge Maidan. However, as it was late in the night, not many people were present.
A local resident of Shimla has sent a written complaint to Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi about the incident. The complaint calls it a serious threat to the tank and demands immediate action. The ridge is a sensitive area, and carrying any kind of vehicle on it is completely prohibited.
The presence of heavy vehicles threatens to damage the tank, putting the safety of local residents and tourists at risk. The Himachal Pradesh High Court already does not allow such public events to be held at the Ridge Maidan. Terming the incident as contempt of court, the complainant has warned that if immediate action is not taken, he will appeal in the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
