The drug trade in Himachal is expanding quickly. Drug smugglers from outside states are coming to the state capital Shimla and smuggling drugs here. The police are constantly engaged in a campaign to tighten the nose on them. In the latest case, the police have taken major action against drug smugglers. Under which the police have arrested two drug smugglers from a homestay located on Mehli Junga Road. Both the accused are residents of Faridkot district of Punjab.
SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi said that Shimla Police had received secret information that some people from Punjab are staying in a hotel in Chayli. These people have been staying here for 4 to 5 days. After which the police raided on the basis of information on Monday late evening. During this, the police searched the room of the accused and recovered 4.32 grams of chitta from the room. Along with this, cash worth Rs 35,700 was also recovered from the cap kept on the chair, which included 70 notes of 500, 2 notes of 200 and 3 notes of 100. The accused have been identified as Mukul Khurana (age 30 years) and Rajkumar (age 19 years). Both are residents of Punjab.
“4.32 grams of chitta have been recovered from two youths of Punjab. The police have registered a case and started an investigation. Police are keeping a close watch on drug smugglers and the arrest of drug smugglers is going on. In this connection, two chitta smugglers were arrested late on Monday evening. Police are interrogating the accused in the case”, said Sanjeev Gandhi, SP Shimla
