World Malaria Day was organized here today courtesy of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Solan. The program was presided over by the health teacher.
He said that malaria is caused by the bite of a female Anopheles mosquito. The malaria mosquito breeds in clean and stagnant water. He said that fever with chills and shivers, body ache and headache, sweating when the fever subsides, and vomiting are the symptoms of malaria.
He said that to prevent malaria, people should not allow water to accumulate around their houses and if the above symptoms appear, they should go to the health center and get their blood tested.
He said that to prevent the female Anopheles mosquito, keep all water vessels and tanks covered and do not allow water to accumulate in animal and bird water vessels, flower vases, etc.
He said that to protect oneself from mosquitoes, one should use a mosquito net, wear clothes that cover the whole body and use creams to keep mosquitoes away.
