    CM assures all possible assistance to cloudburst-affected families of Boh Valley

    Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today telephonically spoke from Shimla to Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, who visited the cloudburst-affected areas of Boh Valley in Kangra district to take stock of the devastation caused by the calamity. He also interacted with the affected families over the phone.

     

    The Deputy Chief Whip apprised the Chief Minister that on his directions, the district administration had provided immediate relief of Rs. 25,000 along with daily essential item kits to 19 families whose houses were completely damaged and Rs. 10,000 each to 17 families whose houses had been partially damaged. He informed that the cloudburst had caused extensive damage to both public and private property. He also urged the Chief Minister to ensure the early restoration of roads, drinking water supply and other essential services in the affected areas.

     

    The Chief Minister said that the state government stands firmly with the cloudburst-affected families and assured them of all possible assistance. He said the state government would restore the essential services in the affected areas on priority.

     

    Sh. Sukhu said that he would soon visit the cloudburst-affected areas to personally assess the extent of the damage. He also appealed to the people to remain vigilant in view of the forecast of heavy rainfall over the coming days.

    Relief and rescue operations are continuously continuing among the recent landslides in Kunduni village under sub -division Joginder Nagar. On Friday, SDM Joginder Nagar reached Manish Chaudhary village and took stock of relief camps and affected areas. During this, the SDM met the affected families and interacted with them and assured all possible help from the administration. He said that to ensure the safety and real damage of the affected people, the drone mapping of the village has also been done by the police department today.

    In the relief camps, the health department team conducted health check -up of the people and also provided necessary medicines. The SDM said that the government has made special provisions for the rehabilitation of the affected people. Families who will have to get a house on rent temporarily will be paid rent by the government.

    Apart from this, such families who are currently staying in the homes of their relatives were distributed relief material, tarpaulin and ration kits from the administration. He said that the main objective of the administration is not to face difficulty in any affected family.

    Tehsildar Dr. on the occasionMukul Sharma and SHO Sakini Kapoor were also specially present and played an active role in monitoring relief works.

    432 disaster affected drinking water schemes partially restored in Kullu district: Mukesh Agnihotri

    Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today reviewed the disaster affected drinking water projects with the officials of Jal Shakti Department in district Kullu. He said that Kullu district has been badly affected by the recent natural disasters, disrupting normal life. As many as 506 out of 708 schemes of Jal Shakti Department have been affected. He said that the officers and employees of the department were working 24×7 for restoration of these schemes, so that relief could be provided to the people of disaster affected regions at the earliest.

     

    So far 432 schemes were partially restored by the department. He said that the work of restoration of the remaining schemes was going on war footing. The aim is to provide normal water supply to every affected area soon.

     

    The Deputy Chief Minister said that in this hour of disaster, the state government was standing with the people. Necessary steps were being taken to ensure that the affected people do not face any kind of inconvenience.

    बर्फ की सफेद चादर में लिपटा शिमला शहर, जनजीवन प्रभावित

    शिमला, 09 जनवरी : पहाड़ों की रानी शिमला बर्फ की मोटी चादर में लिपटी हुई है और भारी बर्फबारी के कारण जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया है। मौसम विभाग ने शिमला समेत पर्वतीय इलाकों में और बर्फबारी की संभावना व्यक्त की है।

    राजधानी में बीती रात मौसम ने करवट ली और बारिश के बाद बर्फबारी के दौर शुरू हो गया। रविवार की सुबह शहर बर्फ की सफेद चादर से ढका नजर आ रहा है। राजधानी में इस मौसम का पहला भारी हिमपात है।

    यहां की सबसे ऊंची चोटी जाखू हिल्स समेत ऐतिहासिक पर्यटन स्थल रिज मैदान और मॉल रोड बर्फ से लकदक है। जिधर भी, जहां तक नजर जाती है उस ओर बर्फ ही बर्फ नजर आ रही है। शहर की सड़कें, मकानों की छतों और यहां तक कि टहनियों पर भी बर्फ लदी है। इस बर्फबारी ने शहर की रफ्तार को रोक दिया है तथासामान्य जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त है।

    शहर की अंदरूनी सड़कें व स्थानीय मार्ग बाधित हैं। सभी मार्गों पर मशीनरी लगी हुई है और इन्हें बहाल करने का कार्य प्रगति पर है। उधर, अप्पर शिमला का राज्य मुख्यालय से सम्पर्क कट गया है। कुफरी, फागु नारकंडा, खिड़की और खड़ापत्थर में बड़े स्तर पर हुए हिमपात की वजह से सड़कें पूर्ण रूप से अवरुद्ध हैं।

    इस बीच ताज़ा हिमपात से सैलानियों के चहरे खिल गए हैं। वीक एंड पर शिमला पहुंचे सैलानी बर्फबारी के मनमोहक नज़ारों का लुत्फ उठा रहे हैं। रिज मैदान पर सैलानी बर्फ से अठखेलियाँ कर रहे हैं। बर्फबारी का दीदार करने बड़ी संख्या में सैलानियों ने शिमला का रुख करना शुरू कर दिया है। बर्फबारी की चाह में हर वीक एंड पर शिमला पर्यटकों से गुलज़ार रहता है।  मौसम विभाग ने आज रविवार को शिमला समेत ऊंचाई वाले इलाकों में भारी बर्फबारी की चेतावनी दी है।
