Ayodhya Ram Temple Attack Plot Allegedly Foiled; UP Youth Arrested in Karnataka

Suspect’s mobile phone reportedly contained references to the Ram Temple, Pakistani contacts, and alleged terror-related material; investigation underway.

    Bengaluru/Davanagere, June 25:
Security agencies have allegedly thwarted a suspected plot targeting the Ram Temple in Ayodhya following the arrest of a 20-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh in Karnataka’s Davanagere district.

The accused, identified as Suhail, a resident of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Harihar town, where he had reportedly been working at a factory for the past two weeks. Police officials said preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect had allegedly discussed plans related to targeting the Ram Temple, although authorities are continuing to verify the evidence.

According to investigators, a forensic examination of the suspect’s mobile phone revealed photographs showing him carrying weapons, contacts linked to Pakistani phone numbers, and audio clips allegedly referring to an attack on the Ayodhya temple. Some recordings reportedly contain conversations in Urdu-mixed Hindi discussing plans to carry out an explosion at the temple.

Davanagere Superintendent of Police H.T. Shekhar said initial findings indicate that the accused may have had links with Pakistan-based terror operatives and was allegedly in contact with suspicious individuals through social media platforms. Acting on intelligence inputs about a suspicious person residing near Harihar, police tracked and detained the accused before handing him over to Tumakuru police for further investigation.

Officials stated that the arrest was made based on information obtained during the interrogation of two suspected terror operatives arrested earlier this month—Zameer Khan in Davanagere and Allah Baksh in Tumakuru.

However, Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge cautioned against drawing premature conclusions, stating that investigators have not yet found conclusive evidence linking Suhail to the previously arrested suspects. He said all possible angles are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities believe the case bears similarities to the ongoing Tumakuru terror module probe, though investigators stress that additional evidence will be required to establish any operational connection. Digital devices, communication records, and the suspect’s recent activities are being scrutinized to determine the scope of the alleged conspiracy and identify any possible associates.

Security agencies are also verifying intelligence inputs suggesting that a group of around ten suspicious individuals may have entered Karnataka. Investigators are working to ascertain whether the accused acted independently or was part of a larger network.

The investigation remains ongoing, with multiple agencies involved in assessing the nature and extent of the alleged threat.

45-Day-Old Infant Dies Hours After Vaccination in Shimla, Family Alleges Negligence

Shimla: A 45-day-old infant died under suspicious circumstances at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, triggering concern and protests from the bereaved family, who have alleged possible negligence and demanded a thorough investigation.

According to the child’s father, Happy, a resident of Dhami, he had taken his son to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital for routine immunisation. After the vaccination, the family returned to their residence in Sanjauli. However, the infant’s condition reportedly deteriorated shortly afterwards, prompting the family to rush him to IGMC, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The grieving family has raised concerns over the vaccine administered to the child and alleged that there may have been a problem with the dose. They have questioned the health department’s functioning and sought accountability for the tragic incident.

IGMC Medical Superintendent Dr. Rahul Rao said it would be premature to draw any conclusions regarding the cause of death. He stated that the exact reason would be known only after the post-mortem report is received.

Meanwhile, Shimla SP Gaurav Singh confirmed that police have initiated an inquiry based on the family’s complaint. He said further action would be taken in accordance with the findings of the investigation.

The incident has created a tense atmosphere at the hospital, with authorities awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death.

Vimal Negi death case: Himachal High Court reserves ruling; government submits two inquiry reports.

    Shimla

The state high court has reserved the decision in the case of the death of Power Corporation Chief Engineer Vimal Negi in Himachal Pradesh High Court. The case was heard in the court of Justice Ajay Mohan Goyal on Wednesday. The High Court may give its decision in a day or two. In such a situation, there is doubt on whether the case will be handed over to the CBI or not. At the same time, Shimla Police will not be able to file a charge sheet in this case without the permission of the court. The court has put a stay on this. Two reports have been submitted to the court by the government. One is the administrative investigation report of Additional Chief Secretary Home Okar Chand Sharma, while the other is a 134-page fact-finding report given by the police. The court has kept both these investigation reports in its record.

At the same time, the Advocate General has requested the court that this investigation report should not be made public because the investigation is still going on. The government has formed an SIT in this case. A status report has also been filed by the DGP. The family has made serious allegations about the government’s investigation. The advocate said that the government is not conducting the investigation impartially. They have demanded the court hand over the case to the CBI. They have demanded that the report submitted by the ACS be made public. The court has not accepted this demand yet. The advocate told the court that the petitioner’s husband, Vimal Negi been missing since March 10.

The postmortem report states that he died three days ago. In such a situation, questions have arisen on histh as to whether this case is related to suicide or someone has conspired to kill him. The police have not been able to find this out yet. The family has alleged that Vimal Negi was mentally pressured by Power Corporation Director Deshraj, suspended MD Harikesh Meena and Shivam Pratap to get wrong work done. He was made to sit in the office for many hours and was mentally harassed. This case is also being linked to the scam in the Pekhubela project. This has also been mentioned in the investigation report.

An SIT had hidden the pen drive…

The police have filed two separate status reports. Advocate General Anup Ratan told the court that the government is not aware of these two reports. The government wants a fair investigation. The government will itself present the report of Additional Chief Secretary Home Omkar Sharma publicly when the time comes so that the family gets justice and there is fairness in the action being taken against the officers. He told me that before Vimal Negi went missing, the DGP had formed an SIT. The second SIT was formed by the government after Vimal Negi’s death. An officer of the SIT formed by the DGP had hidden the pen drive. It was taken into possession by the second SIT formed by the government.

Himachal Pradesh High Court Advocate General Anup Ratan has demanded from the court that the investigation report of ACS should not be made public. This case was investigated after the instructions of the chief minister. Omkar Sharma has submitted the investigation report to the Chief Minister, but till now the report has not been made public. The family is raising questions on this.
