Parwanoo: Vinod Sultanpuri said that the state government is fully committed to the inclusive development and welfare of every section of society. He was addressing a public meeting in Parwanoo after inaugurating several development projects worth ₹44.65 lakh.
The MLA stated that the government is making continuous efforts to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant. He emphasized that the state’s overall development depends on making villages economically strong and self-sufficient. To achieve this goal, special attention is being given to strengthening the rural economy through various initiatives.
He highlighted several measures, including increasing the minimum support price for cow and buffalo milk, raising the minimum support price of products grown through natural farming, and the “Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar” programme aimed at reaching people living in remote areas.
Sultanpuri said that under the leadership of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the government is working for the welfare of farmers, horticulturists, and livestock rearers. He added that despite financial challenges caused by the discontinuation of revenue deficit grants, the government has maintained financial discipline and generated revenue of more than ₹3,800 crore in the past three years, which is significantly higher than the previous government.
He also informed that the Chief Minister has approved ₹10 crore under the Skill Development Programme for the development of youth in the Parwanoo area to enhance their skills and productivity.
During the event, the MLA hoisted a 105-foot-high national flag at the Municipal Council ground in Parwanoo at a cost of ₹10 lakh. He said the tricolour symbolizes the pride, unity, and sacrifice of the nation’s brave martyrs.
On the occasion, several development works were inaugurated, including high mast lights at the newly constructed Dussehra Ground costing ₹5 lakh, a selfie point at Nagar Parishad Anand Park costing ₹3 lakh, installation of 24 CCTV cameras across the city costing ₹10 lakh, and storm water channelization work costing ₹9 lakh to address the long-standing waterlogging problem at Sirmaur Chowk.
Former Municipal Council President Manish Sharma welcomed the chief guest and shared details about the programme. Later, the MLA also attended a Women’s Day programme organized by the Integrated Child Development Project and honoured women participants.
