Shimla: Today at 10:15 am, 110 students of Indian Law Institute, Haridevi, Ghanahati reached the Legislative Assembly Secretariat and met the Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Kuldeep Singh Pathania and observed the proceedings of the House. During the meeting, the students asked the Speaker many questions related to the parliamentary system, proceedings of the Legislative Assembly, the role of the presiding officer in the House and the conduct of the session. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly gave full information to all the students and also made them aware of the proceedings to be held in the House today.
While interacting with the students, Pathania said that the people directly elect the MLA by their votes and a democratic system exists in our country. Pathania said that our country and state run according to the rules and constitutional system through a democratic system. Pathania said that the work of making laws lies with the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assembly, which has been provided for in the Constitution. Pathania said that Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar composed the Indian Constitution after deeply studying the constitutions of all the countries of the world, under which today 140 crore Indians are living with unity, mutual harmony and love and are working day and night for the happiness, progress and prosperity of this nation.
Pathania said that all of you youth are now the sentinels of democracy and it is now your responsibility to strengthen the parliamentary system of this country. Pathania said that all of you can contribute to nation building in different roles, whether it is as an administrative officer or as a public representative. All of you are the future of this state and country and all of you should keep in mind that we have got independence due to the sacrifices of lakhs of freedom fighters. While we have our own elected government, we also have our own constitution. He said that the right to elect the government is directly with the people and after a certain period, if the people want, they can change the government with their votes. Pathania invited all the students to watch the proceedings of the House and gave best wishes from his side.
