Mandi, December 12: Mandi city resident Vinod Bahal, who writes poems in Mandyali dialect, has made a book of 12 songs written by himself in Mandyali dialect. Today, Acharya Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Chancellor of Sardar Patel University, has released this book. In this book published under the name of “Mandara-Mandara Assa Jaana”, 12 Mandayali songs have been published along with Hindi translation.
Vinod Bahl told that the Old Boys Band performs every year in the Shivratri festival and he writes songs for them which are composed by musician Umesh Bhardwaj. The 12 songs written describe the rich culture, lifestyle, food, costumes and temples of Mandyali. To ensure that all these things reach the future generations, they have been published in the form of a book. He told that the future generation understands the Mandyali dialect but is not able to speak it. Therefore these songs have also been translated into Hindi.
Vinod Bahal said that an attempt has been made to convey various dimensions of Mandi Nagar through the songs written in this book. In one song, 34 ancient temples of Mandi city have been mentioned. All this material is also available on YouTube channel named “Bhata Ri Ghed”. He told that this book is also available on Amazon and Flipkart. On this occasion, those who contributed in writing the book were also honored by giving them shawls, caps and mementos.
