As compared to 5093 votes polled through postal ballot on the first day by special category, 7800 votes were polled today by 6445 voters of 80 plus, 1314 people with disability (PwD) and by 41 essential services voters. With this, the number of votes polled through postal ballots till date has reached 12,893 for the 14th legislative assembly elections. This was stated by Chief Electoral Officer Maneesh Garg here today.
A total of 2165 postal ballots were polled in Mandi district by 80 plus, PwD and essential service voters.
Apart from this, 183 postal ballots were cast in district Chamba, by 80 plus and PwD voters only. Similarly, 1374 in Kangra district, 60 in Lahaul & Spiti, 490 in Kullu district, 187 in Hamirpur, 565 in Una, 796 in Bilaspur, 571 in Solan, 1285 in Shimla and 124 in Kinnaur district polled their votes through postal ballot.
No postal ballots were reported in district Sirmour today.
