Public Works Minister inspected the restoration work of flood-affected roads in Taklech
Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that the state government, through the Public Works Department, has approved approximately ₹17 crore for the Rampur Division to repair road damage caused by the disaster, including culverts, etc. He further instructed the department to ensure that any road repairs that are currently underway are completed with full force.
Vikramaditya Singh today inspected the restoration work of flood-affected roads in Taklech, Rampur. He said that our priority at this time is to restore the roads that were completely damaged during the rainy season. He explained that to improve these roads in the long term, we are conducting a geological study and preparing a case for mitigation so that we can get support and study how we can strengthen the local startups and find alternative routes. He also informed that the state government is also providing a budget for such disasters.
He said that debris should be dumped in the right places to avoid environmental damage and prevent problems during the rainy season. He said that he is committed to ensuring that the instructions given to officials today are met within the stipulated time.

After this, the Public Works Minister also listened to the problems of the people at the rest house in Taklech. Representatives from Diothi, Khul, Munish, and Kashapath Panchayats presented their area’s problems to the Public Works Minister.
During this, Chairman Himachal Pradesh State 7th Finance Commission and MLA Rampur Nand Lal placed the problems of the area before the Public Works Minister and demanded immediate assistance from him.
On this occasion, Chairman District Council Shimla Chandra Prabha Negi, Sub Divisional Magistrate Rampur Harsh Amarendra Singh and other officers were also present.
Gym inaugurated in Jhakri
Following this, Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh inaugurated a gym called R.K. Fitness in Jhakri, equipped with all modern equipment. He stated that drug addiction has become a major challenge today, weakening youth from within. He urged young people to stay away from drugs and channel their energy into positive activities. He emphasized that youth can stay healthy through sports and regular exercise. He emphasized that a healthy youth will ensure the creation of a strong society.

During this, Public Works Minister’s wife Dr. Amreen Kaur, State Congress Committee President Pratibha Singh, District Council President Shimla Chandra Prabha Negi and other officials were also present.
A bridge will be built at Jhakri at a cost of Rs 135 crore, approval received from the Centre.
Addressing the crowd in Jhakri, the Public Works Minister informed that the central government has approved a new bridge at Jhakri costing ₹135 crore. He stated that he is on a two-day visit to the Rampur Assembly constituency, during which he is visiting disaster-affected areas to review restoration efforts. He added that he will also visit the Ganvi area on October 1st to review restoration efforts.
