Security agencies in Himachal Pradesh are on alert as two major medical colleges have received bomb threats. These include Medical College Chamba and Nerchowk Medical College in Mandi. These threatening emails created a stir.
Taking immediate action, both the hospitals were completely evacuated. Patients were also evacuated and taken to safer places. There was panic among the patients and their attendants due to the bomb threat. Teams of the hospital administration, police and fire department immediately reached the spot. Quick Response Team (QRT) and bomb disposal squad from Mandi have also reached Nerchowk Medical College and a thorough search of the premises is underway.
This threat has come at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Himachal Pradesh, which has made the security agencies even more alert. The police have taken these threats seriously and are investigating the matter. However, no suspicious object has been found in the search so far. Nevertheless, the security cordon has been tightened as a precaution.
