Mandi (Himachal Pradesh), April 9:
A tragic incident has surfaced from Sundernagar in Mandi district, where a 22-year-old nursing trainee allegedly died by suicide at her residence, with her family accusing a Punjab-based youth of continuous harassment.
According to reports, the victim, a BSc Nursing trainee, was undergoing training at a community health centre in Sundernagar. She was found hanging at her home, sending shockwaves across the area.
Family members alleged that the young woman had been under severe mental stress due to persistent harassment by a youth from Punjab. The accused reportedly made repeated phone calls and pressured her to meet him despite her refusal.
The victim had even shared her distress with her father days before the incident, stating that she did not wish to remain in contact with the youth, but the alleged harassment continued unabated.
Following the incident, police have registered a case based on the father’s complaint. A suicide note has also reportedly been recovered from the spot and is now part of the investigation.
Authorities have launched a search for the accused youth, while further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the death.
