Chandigarh: A shocking murder in the city’s upscale Sector 36 area has sparked outrage after a 23-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her boyfriend for refusing to marry him.
The incident took place at Fragrance Garden in Chandigarh. According to preliminary reports, the accused allegedly called the woman to the garden on some pretext. Following an argument over marriage, he reportedly attacked her, leading to her death.
After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered, and a manhunt is underway to trace and arrest the suspect. The incident has created panic in the area, with residents demanding strict action against the accused.
Police officials stated that further investigation is in progress and assured that the accused will be apprehended soon.
