Every Himachal depot will have electric buses. The government and company management have bought 297 electric buses for this purpose. These buses will soon arrive in Himachal and join the company’s fleet. Additionally, the company has begun preparing to deliver the buses to Himachal. Officials from the corporation have also inspected the e-buses’ structural integrity for this reason.
Next month, a few buses will arrive in Shimla and other depots for testing once the bus bodies are completed and the prototype inspection is completed. At the same time, these buses will be tested in other state depots to assess how well the recently acquired electric buses function in the mountainous regions. These 30 Type-3 and 297 Type-1 buses will arrive in Himachal and operate at the depots following the successful completion of the experiment. Regular buses will operate on the local routes that are being impacted by the bus scarcity, and the introduction of the buses will help alleviate the state’s bus deficit, especially in Shimla.
The company will deliver 50 percent of the buses
In the first phase, the corporation will supply half, or 148 buses. Following this, all the buses will be delivered. It might be presumed that these buses will arrive in Shimla and the state by December under such circumstances. The new electric buses, which will have 32 seats, will also undergo minor changes that will alter their appearance from the previous models.
Will run 180 km on a single charge
The new electric buses that the government and the company are buying will have greater battery power than the vehicles that were previously acquired. Currently, e-buses can go 150 km on a 2-hour charge. These buses will go up to 180 kilometers simultaneously. Additionally, this will lower costs and raise the company’s revenue. The corporation’s revenue will rise as a result. These buses will help lessen emissions at the same time. In addition, the buses will have a high ground clearance, which will prevent them from becoming stuck while traveling on the roadways and causing damage.
