In a case of theft involving gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs of rupees in Sumra village, under the Pooh police station area of Kinnaur district, the police have successfully arrested three accused persons involved in the theft, along with the stolen ornaments. Giving details, SP Kinnaur Sunil Kumar Sharma said that a complaint of theft in Sumra village was registered at Pooh police station on December 11. A team was formed under the leadership of DSP Headquarters Umeshwar Singh Rana, and within 24 hours, the police arrested three accused persons along with the stolen gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 17 lakhs. He also stated that the three accused are being interrogated thoroughly to ascertain who else was involved and whether they are involved in any other theft cases.
Kinnaur Police registers 26 cases of Chitta (heroin) in a year during the special anti-drug campaign
Under the special campaign against drugs being run by the police in Kinnaur district, the district police have registered 26 cases related to Chitta (heroin) in the last year and have successfully seized approximately 26 grams of Chitta. SP Kinnaur Sushil Kumar Sharma, while interacting with the media, said that the Kinnaur police are continuously and strictly taking action against Chitta. He informed that in November alone, 6 cases of Chitta were registered, while in one year, 26 cases have been registered and approximately 26 grams of Chitta have been seized.
