In Himachal Pradesh, now vehicles can be registered and licenses can be made even by showing the insurance policy or Kisan Book. Now 30 types of documents will be valid for these works. Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has fixed a dozen more documents for this work. Letters have been sent to the Chief Secretaries of all the states in this regard. For this, documents like certificate issued by the corporator, property tax receipt, sale agreement, marriage certificate have also been included.
According to a letter issued by Piyush Jain, director of the ministry, to the chief secretaries of all the states, it has been decided for the convenience of the people that now 30 types of documents can be submitted for making license and registration certificate. These certificates have been decided according to the three functions of identity, address and age or date of birth. Aadhaar card and voter card can be presented for all these three. Present the life insurance policy along with the recent premium slip as address proof.
However, it cannot be presented in the form of identity card and age proof. Indian passport, service certificate for central, state, public sector employees can be used for all three functions. School leaving certificate will not be an identity card, but can be used for address and age information. Birth certificate will be the proof for age. PAN card can only be used as an identity card. Ration card will also be used for identity and address. State and Central Government service photographs can be used for identification and date of birth.
