A murder case has been reported from Jubbal in Shimla district, where the body of a 33-year-old man was found lying along a national highway with serious injuries to his head, face and neck. The deceased, identified as Hirendra, was of Nepali origin and had been living in Jubbal for the past few years. Police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation.

According to police, the body was discovered at around 9:50 pm on October 18, when Sahil Bheemta, a resident of Mandol village, was returning home with three companions — Saksham, Akhil and Harsh — after visiting Hatkoti Temple during Navratri.

After having dinner, the four were travelling in a car bearing registration number HP 10B-2684, driven by Saksham. As they approached a point shortly before Dochi, they noticed a person lying face down on the roadside.

The four men stopped their vehicle and approached the person, who was unconscious and bleeding from injuries around his head, face and neck. No other person was present at the spot at the time.

Sahil and Harsh immediately informed the police and called the 108 ambulance service. An ambulance and a police team subsequently reached the scene. After examining the injured man, ambulance personnel declared him dead.

The deceased was later identified as Hirendra, a 33-year-old man of Nepali origin who had been residing in Jubbal for some time.

Based on Sahil Bheemta’s statement, the circumstances at the scene and the injuries found on the deceased’s body, the police registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police have initiated an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and identify those responsible. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
