Sanjay Sood, Treasurer of the Bharatiya Janata Party, while addressing a press conference in Shimla, said that the Government of the Bharatiya Janata Party is committed and has always given priority to women’s empowerment in the state , the BJP believes in the idea of equality of all genders .
Bharatiya Janata Party has been striving to achieve the goals of women empowerment through various works and schemes. Women empowerment has always been a priority in the Bharatiya Janata Party governments across the country . BJP believes in the idea of equality and this is reflected through the actions of the BJP government in the state.
He said that in order to increase the political participation of women, 50 percent reservation has been provided by the BJP government to women in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Himachal Pradesh. The BJP government has created a safe environment for women in the state, as a result of which Himachal ranks first in the participation of women labour force in the age group of 15 to 59 years.
In the year 2022-23, 18.32 percent of the total development budget was allocated through women pradhan of panchayats, this is an important example of women empowerment. There was a manifold increase in the formation of Self Help Groups during the BJP tenure where 2934 Self Help Groups were formed during the Congress tenure in the year 2015-16 while 5247 Self Help Groups were formed during the year 2020-21 during the BJP Government. As a result of this Women have got self-employment opportunities. Due to which the economic status of women in rural areas has been strengthened.
He said that the bus fare for women in state buses was halved under the Nari Ko Naman scheme, the grant of Rs 10,000 was given by the BJP government in 2017-18 to promote the idea of gender equality under the Beti Hai Anmol scheme. It has been increased to Rs 21,000 under this scheme, 1,07,823 daughters have been benefitted.
He said that so far a total of 4.35 lakh families have been given gas connections under Mukhyamantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna, two additional free refill gas cylinders are also being given. So far 2.67 lakh beneficiaries have been given the first and 89 thousand beneficiaries have been given the second additional free refill gas cylinder which has resulted in a smoke free kitchen for the women .
Sanjay Sood said that by rising above the oppressive policies of the monarchy under the congress, the BJP made the democratic system the basis of service. Under the Mukhyamantri Shagun Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 31,000 is being given to the girls of BPL families for marriage in the state.
He said that the Congress leader talks about the respect of women on one hand and insults the woman herself on the other. They do not see the increasing atrocities on women in other Congress-ruled states such as Rajasthan, where crimes against women have increased manifold and there track record on women empowerment is seen by all .the women of the state have also vowed to take the policies of the government to all the nooks and cornors of the state and they will bring back bjp to power .
