Rotary Club Shimla in collaboration with Municipal Council Sunni organized Mega Multi-Speciality Health Check-up Camp
Rotary Club Shimla in collaboration with Municipal Council Sunni organized a multi-specialty mega medical checkup and free blood test camp today at PM Shri Government Model Senior Secondary School Sunni in which the State Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh participated as the chief guest. In the health camp, more than 575 people from Sunni city as well as the surrounding Panchayat area got their health checked.
On this occasion, Vikramaditya Singh while wishing Ram Navami to all the people present in the medical camp said that the new Hindu year should bring happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life. Wishing that everyone should be healthy and there should be rapid development in every field, he said that Rotary Club is a very old social organization, which has been organizing such medical camps and blood test camps from time to time in Shimla city. He said that with the aim of providing health facilities to the people, Rotary Club is taking steps to organize medical and blood test camps in rural areas as well, which is a good initiative. He appealed to the local people to come to this medical camp and get their health checked. He said that the state government is determined to provide health benefits to the people. For this purpose, robotic surgery machines are being made available in IGMC Shimla and Tanda Medical College so that people can get the benefit of modern technology from the point of view of health.
He said that the Himachal Pradesh government has launched a Clean City, Prosperous City and Healthy Citizen campaign from 5 February to 9 April 2025 in which the best performing Panchayats and Municipal Councils will be honored. He expressed hope that Municipal Council Sunni is moving forward to get the first position on the basis of ranking in the campaign run in the field of cleanliness.
Vikramaditya Singh said that as per the decision of the state government, Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools are being built under the reformation of the education system, in which Sunni School from Shimla Rural Assembly constituency has been selected, for which an amount of Rs. 5 crore will be spent for modernization as per the standards of Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School. An amount of Rs. 1 crore has been approved as the first installment. He said that with the changing times, the state government is reorganizing the schools, which will lead to further improvement in education. He said that the state government has decided that in future the focus will be on cluster schools, in which a cluster school of 8 to 10 schools will be formed and by providing teachers of various subjects, quality education and better sports facilities will be provided to the children.
He said that a big library would be constructed near the Community Hall Sunni at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore which would provide a secluded place to the local children to prepare for jobs and pursue higher education.
25 crores are being spent to provide drinking water facility to Sunni city
He said that to provide adequate drinking water facility to Sunni city, a big drinking water scheme is being constructed at a cost of Rs 25 crore, 75 percent of the construction work of which has been completed and within the next 3 months, the construction work of this scheme will be completed and adequate drinking water facility will be provided to the people of the city.
Welcoming the chief guest, Rotary Club Shimla President Engineer Saurabh Raj Sood said that this social organization was established in the year 1959 for public welfare. He said that Rotary Club Shimla has been making every effort to provide facilities in the field of health to the people for the last 66 years.
He said that the health camp provided free blood diagnosis to the underprivileged rural population for diagnosis on health parameters in collaboration with Parth Laboratories, apart from a wide range of services like General Medicine, Surveys, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Dermatology, Dentistry and other medical specialties.
He said that free consultation, diagnostic services and medicines were also provided to the patients in the camp today.
Awareness campaign conducted on e-waste management in the camp
An awareness drive on e-waste management was also conducted at the camp, educating people about safe disposal practices and the importance of reducing electronic waste to protect the environment.
