DC and SP honored him in a ceremony organized in Police Line

The Union Home Ministry has decorated five police personnel of Hamirpur district, namely Standard Head Constable Rita Devi, Standard Head Constable Nirmal Singh, Standard Head Constable Rajkumari, Standard Head Constable Ravi Kumar and Standard Head Constable Himani Chauhan, with Utkrishta Seva Medal for providing commendable services.
Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh, SP Bhagat Singh Thakur and other senior officers presented the Distinguished Service Medals to the five police personnel at a function organized at the Police Line premises here on Saturday.
Congratulating all the medal winners on this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh said that it is a matter of pride for five police personnel of a small district like Hamirpur to receive the prestigious medal of the Union Home Ministry. This will boost the morale of all police personnel, and they will be inspired to work with enthusiasm, high dedication, and honesty in their respective areas of work. Appreciating the functioning of the police in the district, the Deputy Commissioner said that SP Bhagat Singh Thakur has taken many commendable steps for the welfare of the police personnel serving day and night and to provide them better facilities. These include canteen, sports and other facilities for police personnel and linking salary accounts with insurance schemes.
Earlier, welcoming the Deputy Commissioner, other senior officers, all the medal winners and their families, SP Bhagat Singh Thakur said that in today’s era, the evaluation of officers and employees is done with a very well planned, transparent and accurate system. To boost the morale of police personnel working with dedication and to inspire other employees, the Home Ministry has started the scheme of providing Utkrishta Seva Medal from 2019-20. For the first time, 5 employees of Hamirpur district have received this medal. Appreciating the services of the five medal winners, the SP said that all of them have done excellent work in their respective fields of work and have emerged as a source of inspiration for other police employees.
ASP Rajesh Kumar also thanked the chief guest of the program, all other guests, medal winners and their families. ADC Abhishek Garg, Vigilance ASP Renu Sharma, SDM Sanjit Singh, Home Guards Commandant Vinay Kumar, DSP Nitin Chauhan, Harish Guleria and other officers were also present on this occasion.
