Himalayan Adventure Sports & Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA) is a registered society
under Society’s Act of 1860, working in Himachal Pradesh towards the advocacy of cycling as an
activity to promote eco-tourism and developing sustainable livelihoods for the native population of
Himachal Pradesh. We have conceptualized and successfully organized India’s premier mountain
biking race – Hero MTB Himalaya for the past fifteen years in Himachal Pradesh in active association
with the department of tourism government of Himachal Pradesh. We want to showcase the wealth of
natural trails Himachal Pradesh possesses to the mountain biking community from around the world
and are in the process of developing a model to promote cycling tourism in Himachal Pradesh which
can be replicated in other Indian Himalayan states.
To give fillip to the sport in India we started the smaller version of the Mtb Himalaya which is into its
16th edition has seen participation from world champions and more than 28 countries globally , this
small version was aimed at giving a platform to the Indian riders to get a taste of real mountain biking
action and compete against the best riders from around the country , it soon became a craze for the
avid riders from across the country and is now into its 9th edition and fondly called Mtb Shimla –
India’s most loved Cycling Challenge.
MTB Shimla is in its successful 9
th edition and is one of India’s most popular MTB events in the
country .
Now to further galvanise the sport at the grass roots and scout for talent for the sport in the
country we are doing the road to Himalaya qualifiers in 15 cities and towns across India , the
Shimla chapter will be held tomorrow at the beautiful tracks and trails around Mashobara.
50 cyclists from Shimla and around have registered for the race in the age groups of 12 to 34 years.
The top three riders will get a free entry to the prestigious 9th MTB Shimla , India’s Most Loved Mtb Challenge event to be held in Shimla from the 8 to10 Oct 2021.
The series of “Road to Himalaya” qualifiers in 15 cities namely Nanital , Srinagar , Jaipur , Chennai ,
Belgaum, Gurugram, Banglore, Gandhidham, Shimla , Pune, Ludhiana, Kota , Guwahati ,
Ahemdebad, and Thane across India including the metros is getting an overwhelming response in
Shimla, which has firmly established itself as the Mountain Biking Capital of the country with the
best bunch of riders in the Country including national champions and members of the Indian cycling
team who have been identified and nurtured from this platform . We are committed to search and
nurture the best Mtb talent in the country and we are sure that with the support of the government and
other stakeholders we will surely have a good set of world class riders and champions . Said Mohit

The route would be a 40 kms course around the picturesque suburb of mashobara , the race would
begin at Mashobara at 9 am and end at Camp Daak Bangla , followed by the presentations and Lunch
.
The route would be Mashobara –Seepur – Ghodna – Dak bangla – Bekhulti –Camp Daak Bangla.
