Chandigarh:
The 54th edition of the Rose Festival Chandigarh began today at the iconic Zakir Hussain Rose Garden and will continue till February 22, 2026. The festival is expected to attract thousands of visitors from across the region.
The Mayor described the Rose Festival as the pride of the City Beautiful and highlighted its significant role in promoting tourism and strengthening community engagement.
The event features hundreds of rose varieties in full bloom along with a vibrant line-up of cultural programmes, including folk dances, musical nights, live band performances, school presentations, and appearances by celebrity artists. Competitions such as flower arrangement, on-the-spot painting, rangoli, photography, and baby shows are also being organised as part of the festivities.
A dedicated exhibition area has also been set up to showcase key projects and citizen-centric initiatives of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, including achievements in waste management, sanitation reforms, smart infrastructure, green initiatives, and digital governance.
Various government departments, self-help groups, and local artisans are also displaying their products and innovations through thematic stalls at the venue.
