Digital Boost for Kinnaur MSMEs:

A one-day workshop on Government e-Marketplace (GeM), Central Public Procurement (CPP), and Smart MSME Portals concluded successfully at Club Silk Route Banquet Hall in Kinnaur under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme of the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The initiative aimed to strengthen the capabilities of local entrepreneurs by equipping them with practical knowledge of government e-procurement platforms. The session focused on enhancing awareness about GeM, CPP Portal, and Smart MSME systems to help businesses expand their market access and improve product visibility in government procurement.
Participants were guided through registration procedures, bidding processes, compliance requirements, and effective strategies to leverage digital procurement platforms for sustainable business growth. The workshop emphasized enabling MSMEs to actively participate in transparent, technology-driven public procurement systems.
Addressing the gathering, Guru Lal Negi, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) Kinnaur, encouraged entrepreneurs to register on GeM and other procurement portals to unlock wider government purchasing opportunities. He highlighted the growing importance of digital platforms in boosting competitiveness and scaling up local enterprises.
More than 68 entrepreneurs from across the district attended the workshop and actively participated in interactive discussions, seeking clarity on procedural aspects and exploring new avenues for expansion through government channels.
The programme concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the Department’s commitment to strengthening MSMEs, promoting digital inclusion, and improving the ease of doing business in Himachal Pradesh.
