It is a proud moment for the NCC unit at St. Bede’s College, Shimla under 7HP (I) Coy NCC Shimla as SUO Ivy Bhettan has been selected for the prestigious Youth Exchange Programme as a youth ambassador to the UK under the esteemed guidance of Col D.R. Gargey, CO, 7HP (I) Coy NCC. She showed great valor and dedication during the Republic Day camp and because of her dedication she got selected for this great platform. Ivy Bhettan will represent Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Chandigarh Directorate from India . She is the only NCC cadet from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh in the women’s category to be selected to participate in this prestigious youth exchange program after qualifying in a competitive competition. She will undergo further training from NCC Camp Delhi in the month of July and will leave for the United Kingdom in August with the NCC team. CO Col D.R. Gargey said that the Youth Exchange Program of NCC is a highly competitive and prestigious program which aims at fostering cultural understanding, leadership development and international cooperation among the youth. Col Gargey said that SUO Ivy Bhettan’s selection for the event reflects her exceptional dedication, commitment and outstanding performance in her NCC unit. SUO Ivy Bhettan will be given the opportunity to meet and interact with young peers from different backgrounds from different countries, share the unique rich culture of their country and regions and learn about the heritage and cultures of the United Kingdom as well. She will spend ten to twelve days in the United Kingdom and there participating in interactive workshops, cultural-travels, promoting intercultural dialogue, community service projects and many activities with other international participants from India. She will also represent the culture, heritage of Himachal Pradesh as an ambassador for St. Bede’s College and 7 H.P. (I) Coy NCC Shimla.
