Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will preside over the ceremony

The state level 79th Independence Day celebrations will be celebrated with great zeal this year in Sarkaghat subdivision of Mandi district. On this occasion, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will preside over the function. The program will be organized on August 15, 2025 at 11 am in the premises of Government Model Senior Secondary School (Boys) Sarkaghat.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apurv Devgan visited the venue in subdivision Sarkaghat today. During this, former candidate from Sarkaghat Pawan Thakur was also present.
After this, a meeting was organized under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner in the SDM office on the preparations for the function. During this, he informed that extensive preparations have been started at the administrative level to organize the function successfully. He also issued necessary instructions to the officials of the concerned departments including Revenue, Police, Public Works, Water Power, Municipal Council, Information and Public Relations, Language and Culture.
He said that during the programme, a grand march past will be held by the police, home guards, NCC, NSS, scouts and guides, ex-servicemen and band groups. Along with this, cultural groups sponsored by the Department of Information and Public Relations and the Department of Language and Culture will also give patriotic cultural presentations.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to complete all the arrangements on time as per the pre-planned scheme, which includes electricity supply, drinking water, cleanliness, decoration, welcome gate, seating arrangements and security arrangements etc. Apart from this, a grand exhibition will also be organised by various departments.
He also directed that officers and employees of all departments of the district must participate in the function.
