Shimla
Once again, the OPD of 6 super specialty departments at Atal Institute of Medical Super specialty Chamiyana will start operating from Monday. Following the instructions of the High Court, orders in this regard have been issued by the principal of Chamiana Hospital. Under these orders, OPD of Neurology, Endochronology, Nephrology, Urology, Plastic Surgery and Gastroentology departments will now be operational in Chamiyana from 23rd December. Presently the OPD of these super specialty departments was running in IGMC Shimla, but from Monday instead of IGMC, their operation will start in Super Specialty Hospital Chamiana. Following the orders of the High Court, facilities have also been made available here, the report of which has been submitted to the High Court.
Let us tell you that in the month of September, the High Court itself had given orders to close 8 OPDs running in Chamiyana due to lack of facilities. Since then these OPDs were being operated in IGMC. The Acting Chief Justice of the High Court visited Chamiana and inspected the facilities here and just a few days ago the High Court has again given the green signal to the operation of OPD here. This decision was taken in view of the changed circumstances and was done because the Government has invested heavily in installing the building and other infrastructure and machines of the said hospital.
A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Satyen Vaidya has given permission to operate the OPD of 6 departments in Chamiyana itself. For this, staff nurses have also been sent from IGMC to Chamiana. Apart from the above staff, the court asked to issue orders to subordinate the Principal Secretary of Health to the Medical Superintendent with adequate manpower for the maintenance and cleaning of the premises. The court ordered the Electricity Board to present in court the status report of essential streetlights between Chamiana and Bhattakufar.
