A comprehensive review meeting was held at Ajit Darbar Maidi ahead of the historic Maidi Holi Fair, scheduled from February 24 to March 5 in the Shri Chintpurni Assembly constituency. Sudarshan Singh Bablu, MLA of Shri Chintpurni, was specially present and issued necessary guidelines to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the fair.
The meeting was chaired by SDM Amb Paras Agarwal, who held detailed discussions with the Gurudwara Management Committee, local Panchayat representatives, and officials from various departments regarding security, sanitation, traffic management, electricity, and drinking water arrangements.
Tight Security Arrangements
The SDM informed that extensive security measures have been put in place. During the fair, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Una, and the SDM Amb will serve as Fair Officers, while the ASP Una will act as Police Fair Officer and the DSP Amb as Assistant Police Fair Officer.
A total of 850 police personnel, 125 women police personnel, and 750 Home Guard personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order. A medical post will also be set up in the fair area for devotees’ convenience. The Nishan Sahib (flag hoisting) ceremony will be held on March 3, and Panja Prasad will be distributed at midnight on March 5.
Ban on Goods Vehicles
Entry of trucks, tractor-trolleys, tempos, and other goods vehicles carrying devotees will be strictly prohibited. Devotees will be allowed to enter the fair area only through HRTC buses. Violators will face legal action.
Fair Area Divided into 10 Sectors
To streamline operations, the fair area has been divided into 10 sectors for sector-wise monitoring of traffic, parking, sanitation, and other arrangements. Three additional sectors — Una-Mehtpur, Haroli-Pandoga, and Marwari-Mubaripur — have also been created, with respective SDMs serving as Sector Magistrates.
Medical camps will be organized by the Health and Family Welfare and AYUSH Departments, and ambulances will be stationed at Nahri, Maidi, and Charan Ganga for emergencies.
To address network issues, representatives from telecom companies Jio and Airtel have been instructed to ensure proper connectivity in the fair area.
Special Permits and Regulations
The first 100 taxis operating between Nahri and Maidi will receive special permits from the SDM office in Amb. Additional buses will also be arranged for passenger convenience.
Roadside langars will not be permitted without prior approval from the SDM office. Organizers will be required to deposit ₹10,000 as security — ₹5,000 refundable and ₹5,000 non-refundable.
Strict monitoring of food quality, plastic use, inflammable materials, and fuel storage will be undertaken by the District Food and Supply Controller, Una. The Public Works Department will oversee road repairs, while the Jal Shakti Department will ensure drinking water supply and sanitation. Sulabh International has been assigned responsibility for cleanliness, and it will be mandatory for shopkeepers to place dustbins outside their establishments. Loudspeakers will only be permitted at low volume between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
MLA Appeals for Cooperation
MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu urged devotees to participate in the fair with devotion, harmony, and discipline. Emphasizing safety, he advised devotees to avoid traveling in unsafe vehicles such as tempos and tractor-trolleys and to strictly follow the arrangements made by the administration.
