Many areas of HP experienced snowfall and rain on Sunday night as a result of the recent western disturbances.The first snowfall of the season fell on Shimla Kufri, Sirmaur’s Churdhar, Nauhradhar, Haripurdhar, Kilad of Chamba, and Mandi’s Shikari Devi, Kamrunag, and Shaitadhar. Meanwhile, Kangra, Kullu, and Bilaspur’s Naina Devi had drizzle. High peaks such as the Chitkul and Kinnaur Kailash in Sirmaur, the Rohtang Pass, the Baralacha, Koksar, the Sissu, the Darcha, the Jispa, and the Kunjum Pass in Lahaul-Spiti also received snowfall.
Shimla received some sunshine on Monday morning after the snowfall, but difficulties persist. Vehicle traffic was suspended on 87 state roads and one national highway until 10:00 am on Monday following the recent snowfall. In the districts of Solan, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Kinnaur, Chamba, and Sirmour, 457 electrical transformers are impacted. On Sunday morning, there was also some light snowfall near Koksar, including Rohtang.
