· 150 drinking water schemes partially restored
Deputy Chief Minister and Jal Shakti Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today said that restoration work on the drinking water schemes affected by the recent disaster in the Saraj Assembly Constituency was being carried out on a war footing.
Sh. Agnihotri said that 241 drinking water schemes were damaged due to the disaster, of which 150 have already been partially restored. The remaining schemes were being actively worked upon and the departmental teams were working round the clock to restore normal water supply at the earliest.
He said that officers and field staff of the department were working with utmost dedication and commitment. Despite difficult terrain and flooded rivers they were reaching remote areas to repair the damaged infrastructure.
Mukesh Agnihotri said that the he himself was personally reviewing the entire relief and restoration work regularly and is issuing necessary instructions to the concerned officers. He said that ensuring safe and uninterrupted drinking water supply to the people is a top priority of the government and no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.
The Minister said that the department was fully committed to restore drinking water services in all affected villages of Seraj at the earliest so that people do not face any inconvenience.
