As enthusiasm imparts itself magnetically and fuses all into one happy and harmonious unity of feeling and sentiment, the same could be seen today in the streets of the British summer capital. The vivacious glow of countless diya’s, rangoli, and rhythmic beats of drums was not just about the festival but a mark of a significant event, “the Pran Prathishta ceremony of Lord Rama’s idol in Ayodhya.”
Everyone in Shimla came together to mark this historic moment that has woven a deluge of emotions. The shrines were resonating with prayers, the homes were decorated with lights, diyas,diyas and the aroma of home-cooked fragility remained in the air, whereas the night sky became a canvas for fireworks, not merely a symbol of celebration but an expression of together happiness and devotion.
Despite political bitterness, Congress as well as BJP Party workers came together to celebrate the Pran Prathishta ceremony of Lord Rama’s idol in Ayodhya.
Former Chief Minister Jai Ram was also part of this momentous moment by lighting diyas alongside the citizens. His presence added a touch of leadership to the celebration.
Additionally, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also pays obeisance at Jakhu temple and chants ‘Hanuman chalisa’.
As the evening begins, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, too, joined the celebrations and lauded the role of Prime Minister Modi. He highly praised the Prime Minister for scrupulously following each ceremony and fasting until the historic moment took place.
The atmosphere throbs with spirituality. The rituals in Ayodhya reverberated across the hills. The news of Lord Rama’s idol sanctification spread, nurturing a collective sentiment that broke political boundaries too.
For the devoted residents, this wasn’t just a political event; it marked the fulfillment of a centuries-old wait. The longing for Lord Rama’s return had finally found its resolution, and the city echoed with jubilant cries of “Jai Shri Ram.” The connection between the people and their faith became touchable, expressed through an expression of deep emotions.
Meena Sharma, a resident from Shimla, says this is just not a festival but a fulfillment of old centuries. “Our Lord Rama comes home after 500 years, so it’s more than Diwali for each one of us.
The celebration of Lord Rama’s idol installation not only illuminated the city but also left an indelible mark on the hearts of its people, becoming a luminous chapter in Shimla’s history.
