Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) K.K. Pant today released the Geodetic Register and Geodetic Map of Himachal Pradesh, presented by the Director of Geospatial Directorate for Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh, Gaurav Kumar Singh.
The State’s geodetic infrastructure has been categorized into six sections in this register, which include Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS), Great Trigonometric Survey Stations, Ground Control Points, Magnetic Reference Stations, Gravity Reference Stations and Leveling Benchmarks.
The Additional Chief Secretary said that apart from the Geodetic Register, a Geodetic Assets Map of Himachal Pradesh has also been prepared, which provides detailed information about the State’s assets. He added that considering the disaster-sensitive geographical conditions of Himachal Pradesh, the Geodetic Assets Register and map will prove helpful in formulating effective disaster mitigation plans.
He further said that the development of environment-friendly infrastructure is top priority of the State government. The register will also be useful in the construction of eco-friendly and well-planned infrastructure. It will also serve as a milestone in the fields of scientific research and planning in the State.
Additional Chief Secretary stated that the Revenue Department in the State is extensively using modern technologies. Effective steps have been taken to ensure transparent and prompt services to the people in the revenue sector. Village maps and land maps are being uploaded on the Bhu-naksha portal. This facility is also being utilized in the Bhu-naksha and Swamitva projects.
