Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni has released the admission schedule for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Horticulture, Forestry, Biotechnology, Food Technology and Agri-Business for the academic session 2023-24. The application process is online and interested students can apply by logging on to the university website www.yspuniversity.ac.
In undergraduate programmes, the University is offering BSc (Hons) Horticulture and B Sc (Hons) Forestry at its main campus and at the Colleges of Horticulture and Forestry (COH&F) Neri and Thunag. The university is also offering B Tech Biotechnology and B Tech Food Technology programmes at COH&F Neri.
The university is also offering M Sc in its College of Horticulture and College of Forestry located at the main campus at Nauni and COH&F Neri. The specializations offered in Horticulture are Entomology, Floriculture and Landscaping, Fruit Science, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, Plantation, Spices, and Medicinal and Aromatic Crops, Postharvest Management, Seed Science and Technology and Vegetable Science. The courses of MBA Agri-Business Management and M Tech Food Technology are also being offered. The specializations offered for MSc in Forestry are Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension Education, Agricultural Statistics, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Forest Biology and Tree Improvement, Forest Products and Utilization, Forest Resource Management, Microbiology, Plant Physiology, Silviculture and Agroforestry and Soil Science.
The last date for receipt of online applications for UG programmes for normal seats is June 5 and June 28 for self-financing seats. The last date for online application for PG programmes is June 17. The date of the entrance exam of UG and PG programmes is June 18 and June 25 respectively. The result of UG entrance test will be declared on June 26 while the result of PG programmes will be declared on July 2. The list of candidates for UG self-financing seats will be displayed on June 30. The UG entrance test will be conducted at Solan, Hamirpur, Sundernagar, Palampur and Rampur.
Admissions to UG normal seats will be done on the basis of marks obtained in UG entrance test. Whereas the merit of marks obtained at 10+2 level in four subjects-English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics will be considered for admission to UG self-financing seats. Admissions to PG programmes will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the PG entrance test.
