A new small animal research facility, duly approved by the Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change, Government of India, was inaugurated at Shoolini University. The facility will be focused on procurement, maintenance, and experimental research addressing human health needs utilizing small lab animals.
The aim of the newly created facility house will be to conduct research on drug discovery and drug delivery of natural products derived from the Himalayan medicinal flora. The research would cover a wide range of ailments, including those affecting the brain, skin, liver, lifestyle-related disorders, asthma, osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity, and cancer.
Integral components of the research initiative include animal and cell-based studies, utilizing advanced research tools. Shoolini University’s scientists may further explore the possibilities to address the aforementioned diseases, leveraging unique insights from disciplines such as Yoga, Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD), and Artificial Intelligence.
