All India Punjab National Bank Officers Federation has announced a strike on 26th and 27th December. The objective of the strike is to resolve grievances related to work-life balance, staff shortages, the National Pension Scheme, tax on benefits, and the elimination of discrimination between organizations and policies. National Deputy General Secretary of the Federation Pradeep Kaundal said that the organization has decided to go on a 2-day nationwide strike under the leadership of National General Secretary Comrade Krishna Kumar for the interests of bank employees.
He said that the union has highlighted the alleged discrimination by the bank in the management of transfers and benefits of officers, as well as problems in performance evaluation through digital tools like Udaan. The demand to implement a 5-day banking week is based on the need for work-life balance among bankers. He has accused the PNB management and concerned officials of ignoring repeated dialogues about these issues.
He has said that this two-day strike may affect banking operations in the country. The Federation has urged the government and PNB management to pay immediate attention to their demands so that the problems faced by the people due to the strike can be resolved.
