A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner to discuss preparations for dealing with snowfall.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that all departments should ensure active participation and prompt response to ensure no one faces disruption or inconvenience during the snowfall. The district administration has begun preparations to deal with the snowfall in Shimla, and a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner in this regard.
He said that quick response to any emergency situation during snowfall is essential to ensure public safety. Better coordination plays a crucial role in such situations.
He stated that vehicles have been parked on both sides of the National Highway from Shoghi onwards for a long time, making snow removal difficult. He directed the concerned officials to remove these parked vehicles. He also directed a trial run of the snow removal machines.
All SDMs should hold meetings in their areas.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to hold such meetings in their respective areas and prepare a contingency plan within a week. He said that all Sub-Divisional Magistrates should maintain coordination with the Army, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF in their areas. All should ensure timely storage of essential items like ration, gas cylinders, and diesel in their areas. Additionally, all health institutions must have availability of medicines and essential items in case of fractures. It was informed during this meeting that ration and other essential items have been made available in the Dodra Kwar area.
In case of emergency, contact 1077.
