A dispute between two vehicles near Himland Hotel escalated into a serious situation after one party allegedly displayed aggressive behavior, creating chaos on the road. The incident occurred on a narrow stretch, leading to a massive traffic jam that lasted for hours, causing significant inconvenience to commuters.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle bearing registration number HP07 D 1902, reportedly linked to Tarahall School Principal Ritu Sharma, was involved in the incident. Locals have accused her husband, who was present at the scene, of showing high-handedness. They alleged that he deliberately refused to move the vehicle and escalated the argument, which eventually turned into verbal abuse.
Employees of the Himachal Pradesh Finance Corporation present at the spot also claimed that when they requested the vehicle to be moved, they were met with arguments and inappropriate behavior.
Police reached the scene after receiving information, but allegedly faced difficulty in controlling the situation due to lack of cooperation. After prolonged efforts, authorities managed to clear the jam and restore traffic movement.
Locals stated that this was not the first such incident, alleging that the individual has previously been involved in similar road disputes and public disturbances. However, these claims have not been officially confirmed.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are questioning both parties.
