Tansen ki Khoj, Shoolini University’s mega music event, was organised after two years in offline mode in the university campus.
The contest was judged by famous Bollywood singer Siddharth Basrur, who has given some hit numbers in Uri: The Surgical Strike, MS Dhoni, ABCD etc .
Amol from the BBA computer science department won the first prize in the old student category, whereas Nandini from Msc microbiology bagged the first prize in the fresher’s category.
Sidharth Basrur also performed live, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. Another highlight of the evening was a tribute to Siddharth Basrur, by Saksham Dance Club, who dazzled the audience with his songs.
The competition generated a lot of excitement, and after a hard fought pre audition round 10 students were selected as finalists.
Mrs. Poonam Nanda, Dean Student Welfare, said that an event of this magnitude does not happen very often. The skill of our own students, as well as the mesmerising voice of Siddharth Basrur, simply captivated the crowd., she added.
Sidharth bared his soul to the students during the three days, talking about his journey, which had more downs than ups, to get to where he is today. The entire event was coordinated and moderated by the office of the Dean Students’ Welfare.
