Artists of Shiv Shakti Kala Manch Kunihar today made the people present at Government Senior Secondary School Kandaghat in Kandaghat sub-division of Solan district and the main market of Chail aware about disaster reduction through street drama.
The artists said that Himachal Pradesh is part of the young Himalayan mountain range and is vulnerable to many natural disasters like earthquakes, landslides, avalanches. In such a situation, it is necessary for every person to have knowledge about disaster prevention so that any kind of loss of life and property can be minimized.
He told through street drama that recently there has been loss of life and property due to heavy rains in the monsoon season in the district. He told that during this period people’s houses have suffered a lot of damage. To avoid such a situation, it is necessary to build houses at a safe place using quality materials so that there is minimal loss during a disaster. He told the people that damage can also be reduced by adopting traditional construction practices to prevent disasters.
The artists told through ‘short play Samarth’ that it is necessary to be patient during a sudden disaster. In case of disaster, an aware person proves helpful in reducing any kind of loss.
On this occasion, students, teachers and local people of Government Senior Secondary School, Kandaghat were present.
