Himachal Pradesh, February 20, 2026:
Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur strongly criticised the Indian National Congress over its protest during the India AI Summit in Delhi, stating that the party has become a matter of national shame due to its petty politics.
He said that at a time when the world is witnessing India host a major AI Summit, Congress chose to disrupt the event instead of contributing to enhancing the nation’s prestige. Thakur alleged that while the global community is acknowledging India’s technological capabilities, the Congress party is attempting to tarnish the country’s image through what he termed as irresponsible protest.
He further stated that Congress, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, is more focused on opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government than working in the national interest.
Thakur alleged that Congress is now limited to politics of opposition and is attempting to create confusion and instability by staging protests on international platforms. He questioned whether the party’s actions were aimed at discouraging foreign investors and weakening India’s global standing.
He added that whenever the country makes progress, Congress resorts to protest, and described the party’s approach as anti-development and against national interest.
