29-Sep-2025: Himachal Pradesh: 40 people died after a stampede broke out during a rally organised by South Indian film actor-turned-politician Vijay for his political party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) in Karur district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday.
The BJP party high command has formed an eight-member delegation led by Hema Malini. Anurag Singh Thakur, former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur, has been appointed as a member of the delegation, which will meet with the families affected by the tragedy and investigate the causes of the incident.
In addition to Anurag Thakur, the delegation includes BJP MP and BJYM National President Tejasvi Surya, former DGP and BJP MP Brij Lal, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, TDP MP Putta Mahesh Kumar, and BJP MPs Arpita Sangari and Rekha Sharma. He stated that the delegation will submit its report to the BJP high command as soon as possible.
