Shimla, 12 April
APG Shimla University’s School of Management and Commerce organized a one-day workshop aimed at improving interpersonal communication skills among students. The event, held on Wednesday, featured renowned communication skills expert Dr. Shweta Jha as the main speaker. During the workshop, Dr. Jha introduced the Johari Window Model as a practical tool for enhancing self-awareness and mutual understanding among individuals within a group, which can also be used to assess and improve the group’s relationships with other groups.
Dr. Jha emphasized the importance of learning interpersonal communication skills for students to become successful professionals. She explained that even if someone is proficient in their field and work, without the ability to communicate effectively, their expertise is limited to themselves and does not inspire others. Two-way communication is crucial in today’s time, as it allows individuals to gain knowledge from each other.

The successful organization of the workshop was made possible by the support of Assistant Professor of Management and Commerce Department, Dr. Ritika Thakur, Asst.Prof. Saurabh Thakur, Assistant Prof. Bhuvanesh Kumar, Assistant Prof. Pawas Vikrant, and Assistant Prof. Pritika Tomar.
Chancellor of APG Shimla University, Engineer Suman Vikrant, and Pro-Chancellor Pro. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan were present during the workshop. The Head of Department, Dr. Monika Baltu, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Jha for sharing her valuable insights and time in the workshop for the benefit of the students.
